About Roger and Shye

Roger and Shye came to us as separate cases and were introduced in foster care. They have since formed a close bond and will be rehomed together.

Roger is very affectionate and enjoys human interaction, often flopping over for belly rubs. An incredibly sweet boy, he quickly wins the hearts of all who meet him.

Shye has had a difficult start in life and was previously kept in very poor conditions. As a result, she can take longer to build trust. She is more complex in her behaviour and needs a home with people who understand pigs, can read their communication, and will respect her boundaries.

Shye does enjoy interaction on her terms. She will often appreciate a back scratch and can sometimes enjoy a gentle belly rub. However, there are times when she prefers space, and she can be protective of Roger if she feels uncomfortable.

They would be best suited to a knowledgeable, experienced home that can provide consistency, patience, and appropriate handling.

As Roger and Shye need a very special home we are open to applications anywhere in the country and all transportation costs will be covered.

After receiving your completed form, we’ll arrange a phone call to discuss your application and request photos and videos of your setup.

About You

Your Name
Address
If yes, please provide their name
If the role will be shared, who else will be responsible for the pigs’ care and well being?
Not having previous experience will not disqualify you from consideration for adoption, but it may affect which pig/s are best suited to you
If your application is successful, will you be able and willing to collect the pigs and transport them to their new home?
Not being able to collect the pigs is not a disqualifying factor. This information simply helps us assess suitable options for you

Your Land and Set-Up

You don’t need to be fully set up before applying. We’re happy to help you get pig-ready, so if you’re still preparing, please answer the following questions based on your plans
If you rent the land the pigs will live on, do you have your landlord’s permission to keep pigs there for their full lifetime?
Do you have a CPH number?
Do you have a herd mark?
A CPH Number and herd mark are required by law to keep pigs, we cannot complete an adoption without them
Are you happy for us to conduct a further home check?
This will usually be done via phone call, photos and videos

Other Pigs/Animals

I confirm that no animals under my care are used for the purpose of breeding, sale or slaughter
If you are unable to answer yes to this question, we cannot proceed with your application
Do you currently have any other pigs?
Do you intend to integrate any new pigs you adopt with your current pigs?
Ideal set up includes separate fenced off and secure areas (ideally next door to each other). Further advice on introductions and set up can be found on our website
I have read and agree to the Terms of Sevice
