About Eugene and Elizabeth

After two years on our caseload and website, Eugene and Elizabeth have not received a single adoption application. Due to their sole carer’s deteriorating health, this is now an emergency rehoming situation.

Their interactions with people have been somewhat limited, as they have mainly lived with one carer. Eugene and Elizabeth enjoy gentle, low-key companionship. They particularly like brushes and scratches from people they know and trust, and are happy to amble along on a relaxed stroll with their person. In the right home, they would suit someone who enjoys spending quiet time with pigs and building a relationship through calm, everyday interactions. They would be best suited to a quiet home with people who are happy to give them space to settle and get to know their new family at their own pace.

Eugene and Elizabeth have lived around dogs, horses, and a goat. They are particularly fond of interacting with horses in their current home. Any horses in a new home may take some time to adjust to pigs if they have no prior experience with them.

Eugene and Elizabeth currently live alongside one another but do not appear to have formed a close social bond. They coexist calmly and without conflict but choose to sleep separately and do not interact much during the day. They are settled in this arrangement and show no signs of aggression or distress.

A future home should be comfortable accommodating pigs who may prefer space rather than constant social interaction. For anyone interested in adopting them together, two separate sleeping areas would need to be available to them. We would strongly recommend a new home has the option for them to be moved to separate living spaces if the need ever arises.

We would be open to rehoming Eugene and Elizabeth separately if particularly suitable homes were offered and felt to be in their best interests. We are happy to discuss this possibility further with interested applicants.

Please Note

Delilah and Doris have not had an in-person assessment by our team. While they have been reviewed and considered suitable for rehoming, all the information provided comes from their current home.

We’d ideally like to find a new home close to their current location, but we’re open to applications from further afield if you can offer them the right home.

After receiving your completed form, we’ll arrange a phone call to discuss your application and request photos and videos of your setup.

About You

Your Name
Address
If yes, please provide their name
If the role will be shared, who else will be responsible for the pigs’ care and well being?
Not having previous experience will not disqualify you from consideration for adoption, but it may affect which pig/s are best suited to you
If your application is successful, will you be able and willing to collect the pigs and transport them to their new home?
Not being able to collect the pigs is not a disqualifying factor. This information simply helps us assess suitable options for you

Your Land and Set-Up

You don’t need to be fully set up before applying. We’re happy to help you get pig-ready, so if you’re still preparing, please answer the following questions based on your plans
If you rent the land the pigs will live on, do you have your landlord’s permission to keep pigs there for their full lifetime?
Do you have a CPH number?
Do you have a herd mark?
A CPH Number and herd mark are required by law to keep pigs, we cannot complete an adoption without them
Are you happy for us to conduct a further home check?
This will usually be done via phone call, photos and videos

Other Pigs/Animals

I confirm that no animals under my care are used for the purpose of breeding, sale or slaughter
If you are unable to answer yes to this question, we cannot proceed with your application
Do you currently have any other pigs?
Do you intend to integrate any new pigs you adopt with your current pigs?
Ideal set up includes separate fenced off and secure areas (ideally next door to each other). Further advice on introductions and set up can be found on our website
I have read and agree to the Terms of Sevice
