About Snuffle

This handsome elderly chap previously lived with his father and brother. Sadly, his father has taken a dislike to Snuffle in recent times. He has been driving him away from his food and out of their shared paddock and shelter. Poor Snuffle was losing weight and at risk of injury. For his own safety and well being, Snuffle had to be separated from the other pigs.

Unfortunately, his current home does not have much space for alternative accommodation, so Snuffle has to spend most of his time alone in a small shed. Although they care for him very much, Snuffle’s humans know he is suffering. He has no real outdoor space to explore and graze and he is terribly lonely shut up inside by himself.

Snuffle is a very sweet, loving boy. A big fan of being groomed, fussed and belly rubs. Snoozing in the sun and snacking on strawberries are his favourite treats.

Although his life is not at risk we are considering Snuffle an urgent case due to the negative impact his current situation is having on his mental and emotional well being. We are looking for an extra special home for him.

As an elderly pig, Snuffle will need a nice warm, shelter completely free from draughts and damp, good hard standing space, an experienced piggy vet and, most importantly, another pig. We have an elderly lady named Vera who is also looking for a new home and we think the two of them could be a wonderful match.

The ideal home will be in the South East or South West of England, although we will consider alternative options if we feel the perfect home is further away.

If you have an lonely older pig of your own or you have the set up needed to facilitate introductions between Snuffle and Vera, please get in touch.

Apply to Adopt

Please note, as well as a completed adoption application form we require several good quality photographs of the areas in which the pigs would live. You should include photographs that give a good idea of the size of the space available, the type and features of the terrain, all shelters that would be accessible by the pigs and the type of containment you will be using (stock-proof fencing, electrical fencing, walls etc.)

You can submit these photographs by emailing us directly at rescue@everypig.org

A member of our team will be in touch once we have received your completed form and photographs.

Please be aware that as a rescue and rehoming service we do not support the slaughter or breeding of animals. By submitting this form you confirm and agree that any animals within your care are kept as companion animals and are not/will not be used for the purpose of breeding or consumption, human or otherwise.

Your Name
If your current address is different to the address at which the pigs will be living please provide both
This will help us match you to the best pig/s for your life and family
e.g. good with children, experience around other species, particular size/breed, specific age. Anything you can tell us that will help match you with the best pig/s for you
Not having previous experience will not disqualify you from consideration for adoption, but it may affect which pig/s are best suited to you
If you rent the land the pig/s will live on, do you have permission from your landlord to keep pigs on it for the rest of the pig's life?
Do you already have a CPH number?
Do you already have a herd mark?
A CPH Number and herd mark are required by law to keep pigs, we cannot complete an adoption without them
e.g. fields, hard standing areas, trees, wallow, shrubbery etc.
e.g. stock-proof fencing, electric fencing, hedging, dry stone wall etc.
Are you aware of the medical, feeding, husbandry and grooming costs associated with caring for a pig?
If yes, please provide their name
Do you already have any other pigs?
You may have male and female pigs with only the males (or some of them) neutered
e.g. breed, age, size, temperament
Ideal set up includes separate fenced off and secure areas (ideally next door to each other). Further advice on introductions and set up can be found on our website
If you are applying to adopt a single pig and do not have any other pigs, are you able and willing to adopt a second companion pig from us?
Are you able the transport the pig/s to your home?
Are you happy for us to conduct a home check to ensure that it is an appropriate environment for a pet pig?
Are you willing to provide updates to the old home of any pig/s you adopt?
